Shri M. K. Kashyap, is a Civil Engineering Graduate of the 1989 batch from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi. He has 33 years of extensive experience in the Hydro Power Sector.
Shri Kashyap was working as Group General Manager (Civil) in NHPC Limited, a Schedule “A” Mini- Ratana Company under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Prior to joining at Punatsangchhu-I Hydroelectric Project Authority in Bhutan as the Director (Technical) on 8th April 2024, he was Head of Project (HOP) of 800 MW Parbati-II Hydroelectric Project, Himachal Pradesh, India.
Shri Kashyap began his professional career as Probationary Executive (Civil) in NHPC in the year 1991. Shri Kashyap steadily rose up the ranks and during this period he was associated with several projects that highlighted NHPC’s standing as the premier Hydro Power developer in the country. He played a key role in the execution of Projects like Subansiri Lower HE Project (2000 MW), Chamera-II HE Project (300 MW), Chamera-III HE Project (231 MW), Parbati-II HE Project (800 MW). He was also Head of Power Station of Dulhasti Power Station (390 MW).
During his long association with NHPC, Shri Kashyap has served the organization with notable contributions and is well versed in all the facets of Hydro Power development and has worked across domains like the Project Investigations, construction of Tunnels and Power Houses (Underground & Surface), Desilting Chambers, Slope Stabilizations, Project Planning and Operation & Maintenance of Power Station besides his expertise in the area of Project Implementation. He also has the experience of tendering & award of major contracts and contract management. He has always put emphasis on adopting new technologies for enhancing the Project execution capabilities for timely implementation of the projects.
He emphasized on team approach and a firm believer in institutionalizing the best practices and implementing innovative initiatives. Shri Kashyap possesses an excellent blend of technical and people management skills and believes in empowering employees for quick and effective decision-making. Shri Kashyap is extremely passionate about Hydro Power Development and socio-economic development of the Project area.
